PLEASE DO NOT USE THE SPORT COURT BEFORE AUG. 3, AS DOING SO WILL DAMAGE THE NEW SURFACE. PLEASE STAY WELL CLEAR OF THE WORK AREA AND RESPECT ANY SIGNAGE OR SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.

7/26/24 UPDATE: The sport court remains closed for repair and renovation. Hazardous trees have now been removed, and the court has been resurfaced. However, work continues, and the new surface needs time to cure. The court will be painted next week and the paint will need additional time to cure. We expect the sport court to be available again by 8/3.

SPORT COURT CLOSED FOR REPAIR & RENOVATION

As previously announced, the sport court is closed for safety reasons. During the week of July 22-26, the sport court will undergo repair and renovation. Immediately following the removal/trimming of two hazardous trees, the court will be cleared, roots removed, resurfaced and painted.

PLEASE STAY WELL CLEAR OF THE WORK AREA AND RESPECT ANY SIGNAGE OR SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS.

Large equipment will be required, and the park may be closed periodically during this time for safety. SLCC policy requires that children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult member at all times.

Initial expectations are for work to be completed by July 26, but unforseen circumstances could delay the project. We will let you know when the project is complete. In the meantime. get your pickleball paddles and basketball moves ready!

SAFETY HAZARD - SPORT COURT CLOSED

Please be advised that the sport court is closed due to a safety hazard from a diseased tree located on the neighboring property.  SLCC has had the tree evaluated by a certified arborist and is communicating with the property owner to mitigate the hazard as soon as possible.

The Big Leaf Maple tree has a large portion of the canopy overhanging the sport court that is dead and hazardous. The weight of this section can cause severe injury, particularly when the tree is saturated from rain. As the heat of the summer continues, it will continue to weaken and become brittle making the tree more susceptible to failure.

The sport court will remain closed and surface repair postponed until the issue has been resolved.
